Many companies have gotten themselves into some sticky situations in the realm of social media – situations that could have been avoided.
You can avoid such disasters yourself by establishing your own social media policies. No matter how big or small your organization, you should at least have some general guidelines in place.
I am not referring to policies around how your employees can use social media on their own time (that is a topic for another day), rather guidelines on how you want your company or yourself to be perceived, as well as best practices for engagement.
